Description
During my home winemaking days, I met EJ Neal back in 2000 and bought my first grapes from him, just before moving to Sonoma County. At the very beginning of our winery project, I knew I wanted to make a Syrah. And when we finally started to commercially make this wine, it was my first commercial gold medal.
Grown in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley, this wine exhibits a rich character that is reminiscent of the Northern Rhone Valley in France. In order to provide additional aromatics, complexity and flavors, we co-fermented with 3% Viognier. The result is a full bodied wine that exhibits a nose of blackberry, mocha and vanilla; followed by a rich mouthful of berries, chocolate and coffee flavors
